Privacy Policy
Pill Window keeps your timer log on your iPhone. We don't collect it, see it or sell it.
What the app stores on your iPhone
- Your log
- Each time you tap “I took it”: the start time you chose (you can backdate it) and the wait length. That's all. The app never asks for the name of a medicine, a dose or a condition.
- Your settings
- Wait length, whether the morning reminder is on and its time, and whether you finished setup.
The log is a file inside the app on your iPhone, protected by your iPhone's built-in data protection; settings are kept in the app's standard preferences. Like other app data, both are included in your own iCloud or computer backups of your iPhone, according to your backup settings. We cannot access them.
On the free plan the app shows your last 7 days. Older entries are not sent anywhere or deleted; they stay on your iPhone and become visible if you subscribe to Plus.
What we collect
Nothing. Pill Window has no account and no sign-in, and it has no server of ours to send data to. We don't collect, receive, store, share or sell your personal data.
- No analytics or usage tracking.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
The app doesn't contact any server of ours. It uses Apple's StoreKit for purchases. If you tap a link such as Terms of Use, Privacy Policy or Manage subscription, iOS opens that Apple or Velkmoor page; the app doesn't add any of your data to the link.
If you have turned on Share With App Developers in your iPhone's Settings (Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share anonymous crash reports and app-usage statistics with us. That is controlled by you and by Apple, and you can turn it off at any time.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms and privacy policy. We never see your name, email address or payment details. On your device, the app asks Apple's StoreKit only whether you have an active subscription, so it can unlock Plus.
Notifications and the Lock Screen
- “Your wait is up.” When you start a timer, the app schedules one local, time-sensitive notification on your iPhone for the end of your wait.
- Morning reminder. Optional, off until you turn it on. A local notification at the time you choose.
- Live Activity. While a timer runs, the countdown appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
All of these are created on your iPhone; none go through a server, and no push service is used. They can be seen by anyone who looks at your screen, but they contain only timer text — never a medicine name. You can turn them off in your iPhone's Settings › Notifications › Pill Window, and Live Activities in Settings › Pill Window.
CSV export (Plus)
Plus can export your log as a CSV file (start time, wait length, end time) that you share or save where you choose. The app prepares the file in a temporary folder and removes it when you erase your logs or relaunch the app; any copy you shared or saved stays under your control.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Remove a timer you started by mistake: on Today, tap Tapped by mistake?.
- Erase your log: Settings › Your data › Erase all logs. This also cancels pending end-of-wait alerts and ends any running Live Activity. It cannot be undone.
- Delete everything, including settings: delete the Pill Window app from your iPhone.
- Copies you made remain until you delete them: exported CSV files, and your iCloud or computer backups of your iPhone.
Children
Pill Window is meant for adults managing their own daily routine. It is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your choices and rights
Because we don't hold any of your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, delete or sell. You stay in control of everything on your device, as described above. If you have a privacy question or request anyway, email us and we'll answer.
Not medical advice
Pill Window is a timer and a log. It does not provide medical advice, dosing guidance, diagnosis or treatment recommendations, and it does not decide when it is safe to eat, drink or take anything. Always follow your prescription label and your clinician's or pharmacist's instructions.
Changes to this policy
If the way the app handles data changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top before the new version of the app is released. If a change means data would leave your device, we will tell you in the app before it happens.
